teatropilipinas.org is the first comprehensive web portal solely devoted to theater in the Philippines, from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
The site contains a database containing:
- theater practitioners in all aspects of theater production
- theater companies (professional, school based, community)
- theatrical resources
- photo & video archives
teatropilipinas.org also provides a forum to discuss various issues concerning theater through news articles and a journal on theater scholarship.
This project is funded by the Commission on Information and Communications Technology (CICT) in cooperation with the University of the Philippines through the Department of Speech Communication and Theater Arts.
Mission
teatropilipinas.org aims to provide a virtual space for Filipino theater artists, managers and scholars to meet, exchange ideas and share their expertise. It hopes to nurture an online community that is genuinely committed to the study and practice of theater in the Philippines.
In fostering this community, teatropilipinas.org hopes to connect Philippine theater to the rest of the world.
